Just to argue a lil' more, you dont have to spend 10k hours, not even 10k minutes. Theres a trick do recude this time by a LOT. You can find it in community stuff section.

Don't spend time on pvp/observing, only play one character for 2 years and those titles are maxable within 3-4k hours.. most of you have more I guess so.. :P

well you can do some of those at the same time....since you have to spend time vanquishing you can be drunk as you do it....so that makes the drunk title easier...and while you are vanquishing you can open chests and map...2 more.
and getting lots of faction, well you have to vanquish those areas as well...so might as well get the faction for them while ya do it. Unlucky and lucky work from the chests as well-----
sweet tooth and party animal are just how fast can you click....and if you have been doing the vanquishing and opening chest I am sure he got some stuff from the chests to buy those sweets (or heck just doing the vanquishing when there is one of those drop weekends would help that out).....

I see no problem with having a life and having obtained those titles....

Just as a very rough calculation.
32k chests (also gives lucky,unlucky and wisdom titles)approx 70 per hour = 450 hours
Kurzick HFF if only done on double weekends 12.5k runs @ 1 min per run = 208 hours
Drunkard easily doable in 10 hours.
Party and sweet about an hour for both
VQ + Cartogs say 2 hours per zone = 240 hours
Prot + Guardian an hour each per mission at most = 116 hours
SS/LB Prob 20 hours on double weekends and say 20 for each of the EoTN grinds.
No idea how long each luxon run takes for the faction farm but I'll say 1.5 mins per run again on double point weekends thats 300odd hours.

So we have a rough total of 1425 hours over 2 years or just under 2 hours per day so easily doable and can still play other chars and have a life.

3rd - if you don't like it, why do you bother? just because someone achieved more than you and you'll never get to his level it doesn't mean you have rights to say such things.

And yes, i agree that these titles are realyl impressive. And imo you don't need to play 5h+ daily to achieve it, you just need to spend all time you're on GW on titles.

There is a zoning trick that can be done where you drink 3 minute drink, zone, get 3 mins on title, drink 3 minute drink go back through zone, get 3 mins on title. Rinse and repeat til max.

I know this works as I went from just over 1k mins to 10k mins in less than 2 days play.

I haven't done any faction farming so didn't know if it was a double weekend or a permanent thing

there is a way to make it only last 10 hours. It has to do with your guild hall and traveling to it and leaving it over and over. Forgot how it works, but it makes life x20 easier.

Answering to the OP: Yes, because they will give you beneficts for GW2.

Now start guessing what kind of stuff will Anet bring to us with the maxed titles....

IMO, titles based on grindin, concerning only GW, are pretty pointless, since they dont match your skill. These titles are a mirror of our consumist society, where to have is better than to be.

They are most certainly not correct unless you can complete the actual run in 30-40 seconds, which is impossible. It requires 20-30 seconds to run to the portal from the spawn points. At an inhumanly high rate of 50 runs per hour, this will take 10^7/(50*800) = 250 hours. This is nearly 11 straight days of bot-like tenacity, which explains why half the people in Melandru's Hope are botting it.

Maxing it manually will take between 350 and 500 hours.
